1. Introduction

       NAREGI middleware was developed by the National Research Grid Initiative 
       (usually referred to as NAREGI). 

       The Gfarm filesystem is a distributed filesystem consisting of the local
       storage of commondity PCs. It is software that comprises many PCs(cluster)
       large-scale, high-performance shared network filesystem.

       Gfarm Version 2.3.1 RPM packages for NAREGI Middleware Version 1.1.5 
       (usually referred to as Gfarm2) is a package of Gfarm 2.3.1 for NAREGI 
       Middleware V1.1.5.

2. Installation Procedure

       Gfarm2 is installed using the rpm packages (except some components). 
       First, the user runs an installation program on one computing node; 
       then, the installation program accesses our download server to download 
       the program packages and installs the packages to other computing nodes. 
       For details of the installation procedure, refer to Gfarm Version 2.3.1
       RPM packages for NAREGI Middleware Version 1.1.5 Installation Guide.
       
       Before the installation using the rpm package, the user needs to make 
       preparations such as definition of server configuration. For details of
       the procedure, refer to "2 Preparations and Points to be Checked" in
       the Gfarm Version 2.3.1 for NAREGI Middleware Version 1.1.5 Installation
       Guide.


3. Major New Functions

     - Gfarm 2.3.1 Support
       The Gfarm 2.3.1 can be newly installed in the NAREGI middleware Version
       1.1.5 installed environment.

     - Enhanced file operation of WFT
       The file operation function was added. The directory making and the 
       operation function of the file copy etc. via GridFTP were added. 
       refer to "NAREGI Middleware User's Guide WFT", and "NAREGI Middleware 
       Administator's Guide WFT".


4. Resolved Problem

     - Fix a problem that Gfarm2 Administrator User DN cannot be set.
     - Fix a problem that DN of Gfarm2 Filesytem node including space
       cannot be set.
     - Fix a problem that DN of user certificate including space
       cannot be set.

5. Revised Documents

     * Gfarm  Version 2.3.1 RPM packages for NAREGI Middleware Version
       1.1.5 Installation Guide V1.0 (GD-GF20101-02)

     - 3.7.4: Add the file name of a certificate when the certificate
              is taken from the tar file.


6. Restrictions

   Gfarm2 RPM package distributes only CentOS, openSUSE is not distributed.
